Writer: Julie McKayJulie McKay

Enable IT Recycling gives old business tech a new home while creating work and learning opportunities for highly disadvantaged communities in Melbourne’s North.

During the recent visit by Danny Pearson MP and Kathleen Matthews-Ward MP, Enable’s Founder and Managing Director, Julie McKay, showcased the benefits of a Circular Tech approach of reusing decommissioned business laptops to create significant environmental impact, as well as social and economic benefits for disadvantaged communities.

Founder & Managing Director, Julie McKay says: “We are thrilled to showcase how the growing Circular Economy and Social Enterprise sectors intertwine to provide jobs and affordable tech during tough economic times.”

Since 2016, Enable, an accredited E-waste facility, has processed over 500 tonnes of decommissioned tech while creating 40 employment pathway opportunities.
